During this program, you’ll study the following courses:
- COM 1033 – Introduction to Media
- COM 2133 – Interpersonal Communication
- COM 2573 – Communication Theory & Research
- COM 3513 – Communication Ethics
Students must take an additional 6 upper-division (3000 or 4000 level) credit hours from the Communication Program, i.e. courses with the COM or COMV prefix.
Students majoring in Cinema Arts, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Broadcasting or Theatre may undertake a minor in Communication.However, since these students are required to take COM 1033, COM 2133 and COM 3513 as part of their major, they must instead take an additional 9 credit hours from the Communication Program, i.e. courses with the COM or COMV prefix to fulfill this minor. Of those 9 hours, 3 credit hours must be upper division (3000 or 4000 level).
