A Liberal Arts degree is a type of multidisciplinary program that covers areas like humanities, social sciences, arts, literature, and philosophy. Liberal Arts degrees span a variety of subjects and can focus on specific topics. Students will typically major in a program like mathematics, philosophy, intercultural studies, within a school of liberal arts.  

When you choose a degree program in the liberal arts, you’ll graduate with one of the following:

  • A bachelor of the arts
  • A bachelor of the sciences

How Long Does it Take to Earn a Liberal Arts Degree?

It typically takes between four to five years to earn a Liberal Arts Degree and around 120 credits. Though this can vary widely depending on what program is being studied.
