As a history major, you’ll be able to take advantage of a range of distinctive offerings. Our Phi Beta Theta chapter—the American honor society for students and professors of history—was established in 2008, and we hosted the society’s 2018 regional conference. Our students regularly intern at places such as The Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Norton Museum of Art and the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach.
The program offers a number of distinctive features:
  • Guided by Faith—Our faith focus allows instructors to be comfortable framing the great sweep of human history within a Christian prospective, providing unique insight into the nature of human action and endeavor.
  • Opportunities Abroad—Our travel study initiatives include semester programs at the University of Oxford, the University of Edinburgh and the University of St. Andrews, as well archeology trips to Italy and Ireland.
  • Exceptional Location—PBA’s close proximity to Palm Beach County Historical Society, Norton Museum and Flagler Museum will enable you to enrich your learning experience.
  • Significant Research—Recent research initiatives by students include trench newspaper publishing in WWI; American exceptionalism and public policy; and the human and fiscal costs of U.S. military interventions in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Politics, B.A.

The B.A. program in Politics provides a distinctive liberal-arts approach to the study of politics. Students explore the historical, theoretical, and practical foundations of politics and the values and institutions that have informed the development of Western political order, including traditional Judeo-Christian morality, limited, constitutional government, and the Rule of Law.
