Program Details
The study of behavioral neuroscience bridges the biological sciences, psychology, philosophy, and research. Through coursework, laboratories, and independent research experiences, students explore the scientific and philosophical questions surrounding the brain, behavior, cognition, and human experience.
Science and Math Core Courses
Build a strong scientific foundation through coursework in biology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, chemistry, psychology, statistics, research design, and other laboratory-based sciences.
Required Cognate Courses
Develop interdisciplinary expertise through courses in molecular biology, histology, programming, nutrition, behavioral genetics, biomedical ethics, philosophy of mind, and related fields.
Faith, Roots, and Reason
Deepen your worldview through PBA’s general education curriculum while exploring the connections between faith, knowledge, and discovery.
This program does not offer formal concentrations. However, students can customize their academic experience through electives, research opportunities, internships, and complementary areas of study that align with their career and graduate school goals.
Behavioral Neuroscience students learn through laboratory experiences, research-focused coursework, and access to modern scientific equipment that supports the study of behavior, biology, and neuroscience.

Students complete a year-long senior research practicum and thesis experience during their final year. Working alongside faculty mentors, students develop an original research question, conduct data collection and analysis, and produce a formal research manuscript. This experience prepares students for graduate-level research and professional careers in science and healthcare.
