Are the advertised positions still available?
All positions posted on our Web site are available.
Are there application deadlines?
We do not normally set application deadlines as the search is continued until the
position is filled.
How should I send my materials?
Regular mail, email or fax are acceptable methods of sending application materials.
Should I wait to collect all my materials before sending?
It is recommended that applicants collect all their material and send them together
in one packet. (A list of contact information for those who will be sending references
directly is acceptable.) Applications which are not complete will not be reviewed
or acknowledged.
Will PBA keep my curriculum vitae on file for future searches?
For full-time positions, we are unable to keep material on file for the future; applicants
must apply for a specific position which is being advertised. Applicants may apply
for adjunct positions, and their completed material may be kept for future searches.
Can PBA use material which I submitted in a previous year?
For full-time positions, we are unable to use application materials submitted in
a previous year's search. Application material can be reused for adjunct positions.
May I apply for more than one position?
Yes, you may apply for more than one position at a time; it is recommended that you
complete separate cover letters for multiple positions.
Should I apply if I do not meet the advertised qualifications?
The advertised qualifications list specific degrees and/or experience, and applicants
who meet those qualifications will be considered as first choices. It is not recommended
that applicants apply if they do not meet the minimum standards and qualifications.
What are the educational requirements for faculty?
Our regional accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), requires that "faculty teaching baccalaureate courses
[have] doctoral or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with
a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours
in the teaching discipline). Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course
work [have] earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related

Does PBA offer tenure?
PBA does not offer tenure; all beginning faculty sign a one-year letter of agreement.
After several years of service, faculty may enter an application process in order
to receive two- and then three-year letters of agreement, which upon on-going exemplary
service, automatically roll-over.
What is a letter of application?
A letter of application is a cover letter which states your intention to apply for
a particular position and serves as an introduction to your material.
What is a curriculum vitae?
A curriculum vitae is a document which lists an applicant’s contact information,
educational background, and experience. It is comparable to a resume, except that
education is listed first.
How long should my statements be?
The statement of teaching philosophy and the statement indicating how the applicant
has or intends to integrate a Christian theistic worldview in the teaching-learning
process have no specific length requirement. They should be long enough to effectively
relay your thoughts on the subjects.
Do employees sign a faith statement?
Yes, employees must affirm the guiding principles of the University.
Does PBA entertain applications from internationals?
Yes, the University accepts completed packets from all qualified applicants.
What is an average salary and benefits package?
We are unable to discuss salary and benefits until a person is being entertained
as a candidate for a position.
