Graduate Nursing Coordinator - School of Nursing
TYPE: Full-time, Exempt
LOCATION: West Palm Beach Campus
SUMMARY: Responsible for communication with nursing program applicants and ensuring a smooth
transition from Admissions into both the graduate nursing program and the undergraduate
RN-BSN and Orlando BSN programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates with Admissions, communicates and schedules graduate interviews, creates
initial degree plan, and registers all graduate students for their first semester.
- Coordinates Nursing CAS applicants with Admissions.
- Coordinates background checks, drug testing, and immunization requirements for students.
- Prepares practicum and clinical attestations as requested.
- Assists with preparation of the live class and online session schedules.
- Communicates with students concerning their practicum and clinical site needs.
- Serves as advocate for the student with student accounts, financial aid, registrar,
etc.
- Works with associate deans and track chairs to create course schedules.
- Creates Medatrax courses, assignments, and evaluations.
- Registers and renew graduate students in Medatrax.
- Assists the Dean with budget preparation and ongoing management.
- Processes graduate DNP practicum and project stipends.
- Processes full-time faculty overloads and adjunct loads.
- Establishes required clinical affiliation agreements, tracking those with an expiration
dates.
- Participates in recruitment events, Orlando campus open houses, and local hospital
education fairs.
- Assists in coordinating and participate in hooding, pinning, commitment, and commencement.
- Serves as the Secretary for the SON Advisory Board
- Updates catalog course descriptions and catalogs annually.
- Assists Associate Dean in updating student handbooks annually.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Proven experience as a self-starter, working in a team environment, and the ability
to perform duties and work independently is required.
- Must be organized and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Baccalaureate required (health-related or educational field preferred). 2+ years
experience in detail-oriented, administrative setting required. 2+ years of experience
in higher education administration or student development preferred.
