Training, Encouraging, and Mentoring the next generation of theatre artists.
PBA Children’s Theatre offers volunteer positions for high school students under the
age of 18. Student volunteers are able to earn volunteer hours towards Florida Bright
Futures. Volunteer positions are divided into two categories, Education and Production/Artistic.
EDUCATION Student volunteers assist teaching artists in class, supervise lunch hour, and help with general classroom
management. Volunteers are placed in Summerstage production based on their experience
and skill set. All education assistants are required to work scheduled rehearsals
and attend all tech rehearsals and performance. Education assistants may be part of
our run crew and assist with strike.
PRODUCTION/ARTISTIC Student volunteers will be paired with a mentor in their chosen area (props, sound, lights, etc.) and
work closely with that person during our summer production class as production assistants.
All production assistants are required to work during scheduled rehearsals and attend
all tech rehearsals and performance. Production assistants serve as our run crew and
assist with strike.
We have a limited amount of volunteer positions. All students interested must apply
and interview for the position. PBA Children’s Theatre selection committee will review
applicants and notify student volunteers if they have been selected to participate.
Complete a student volunteer application and submit prior to the deadline date of
August 15, 2021 for the fall session and December 15, 2021 for the spring session.
Upon receipt, an email will be sent confirming your interview date and time.
If you have been selected, you will be notified by email. The email will contain important
information regarding required rehearsal schedules, conduct code, and position responsibilities.
Student volunteers not selected to serve as an education or production volunteer will
have the opportunity to serve our front of house team and will be contacted by our
Front of House Manager to determine their interest and/or availability.
