Phi Alpha Theta

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society that promotes the study of History through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning among historians in a variety of ways. It seeks to bring students and faculty together both intellectually and socially for mutual understanding and encouragement in their common interest of history.

History Club

The History Club provides opportunities for history students to interact socially, explore historical issues, visit sites of historical interest and engage in community service. The History Club meets monthly and is open=”open” to any student with an interest in history.

Pi Sigma Alpha

As the national honor society for Political Science, Pi Sigma Alpha sponsors exciting speakers and interesting events, such as “Election Night Watch.”

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is the international English Honor Society. Members of Sigma Tau Delta have an interest in the fields of literature and creative writing, and have the opportunity to work on service projects that affect our community. The national organization offers opportunities to present papers at an annual conference, as well as scholarships and invitations to submit creative and critical work to a national journal.

South Florida Chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA)

Members of JASNA meet monthly to discuss topics of interest regarding the works and times of Jane Austen, famous author of Pride and Prejudice and other novels. Meetings typically include British tea and entertaining events, such as lessons in Scottish Country Dance. As a member of JASNA, you are encouraged to enter the annual essay contest with an opportunity for attendance at the JASNA Annual General Meeting.
