Our Nursing BSN to MSN program offers students a holistic approach to the nursing profession. You’ll have abundant opportunities to apply what you learn in local hospitals, clinics and community outreach programs to needy communities around the world through the School of Nursing and PBA’s Gregory Center for Medical Missions. A number of area hospitals offer internship programs including the VA’s summer Valor Program, and upon the successful completion of your first semester of your junior year, you’ll qualify to work as a nurse technician at most local hospitals.

Licensure and Certifications

PBA’s BSN nursing program prepares graduates to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), a nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses in the United States.  Passing the exam is a prerequisite to nursing licensure in the USA.

Program Learning Outcomes

1. Synthesize theoretical and empirical knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, humanities, Christian faith to support ethical decision making for optimal health outcomes.

2. Apply organizational and systems leadership principles to strengthen nursing practice and healthcare delivery.

3. Analyze research and scholarly activities that support evidence based practice, nursing education, clinical practice, and healthcare organization.

4. Analyze technology and information systems to improve healthcare quality and safety clinical prevention and population health.

5. Analyze healthcare policy to improve patient and community health outcomes.

6. Develop collaborations with leaders in nursing and other disciplines to improve the quality of professional nursing practice and health outcomes.

7. Demonstrate nursing practice at the master’s degree level.

Graduates of the program are ready to sit for the national licensing exam in order to obtain their RN license and begin careers in the various fields of nursing. Many program alumni also pursue a graduate degree. Application Exam Scheduling Instructions (TEAS)

Palm Beach Atlantic University is not an official TEAS testing site.  TEAS tests are administered only for currently enrolled lower division nursing or transfer students who have applied to the Nursing Program .

Entrance Exam: Test of Essential Academic Skills Version 6 (TEAS)

Scheduling:

  • TEAS exams are limited to currently enrolled PBA students and current applicants only.  If you are not currently a PBA student you may search for testing locations on ATI’s Website
  • Enrolled students should go to myPBA>Schools>Nursing to view the latest TEAS schedule.

Before the test:

  • Study and prepare ahead of time
  • Get a good night’s sleep the night before the test
  • Eat breakfast or lunch the day of the test
  • Go to www.atitesting.com and create a student account. Bring your login information to the test. (If you do not bring the information to the test, you will have to reschedule!)
  • Apply to the Upper Division by going to myPBA/Schools/Nursing and clicking on the Upper Division BSN Program application link

The day of the test:

  • Due to COVID the test is currently being proctored remotely by a third party company. For details contact Nursing@pba.edu . Please put TEAS in the subject line
