Biography
A native of North Carolina, Dr. Dana Strachan is currently the dean and a professor of pharmacy practice at the Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy. She coordinates and teaches in pharmacy calculations during the first didactic year, and serves as an instructor in the pharmacotherapy sequence. She serves on the curriculum and academic policies committee, executive committee, and student affairs committee. As part of her responsibilities at PBA, Dr. Strachan is the director of the Gregory Center for Medical Missions and has led and participated in trips to the Dominican Republic, Belize, Costa Rica, and Honduras. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the literature including manuscripts that can be found in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, American Pharmacy Association’s Pharmacotherapy First, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and Journal of Pharmacy Practice, amongst others. In addition, she has authored numerous chapters in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s prestigious Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program. Dr. Strachan has presented at various conferences for organizations such as the Florida Pharmacy Association and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 and completed a primary care/managed care residency at Campbell University from 2004 to 2005. She completed the Academic Leadership Fellows Program through the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (2018-2019). In addition, she received board certification in pharmacotherapy from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties in 2007 and currently maintains this certification.
