Dr. Kathy McKinnon has more than 29 years of nursing experience in adult and pediatric emergency rooms, pre-operative, post-operative, and outpatient surgery. Dr. McKinnon is currently an associate professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University and teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. She graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership, in December 2020. Prior to working at Palm Beach Atlantic University, she served as a chaplain at Good Samaritan Medical Center while pursuing a master’s degree in advanced holistic nursing. Dr. McKinnon is a board member of Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope, Interfaith Health and Wellness, and belongs to Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She also serves as the faculty advisor for Nurses Christian Fellowship, Spiritual Life Council, and Ethics and Grievance Committee for Palm Beach Atlantic University. Dr. McKinnon hosts prayer services and community outreach events and encourages and inspires others by giving them hope. Dr. McKinnon has a son Townsend who attends the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame and serves in the ARMY ROTC.
