Biography
Lisa has over 27 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Medical Surgical, Orthopedics and Neurological nursing, specifically Brain and Spinal Cord injuries. She began teaching clinical as an adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College in 2005 and obtained a Master of Nursing Education in 2014. In 2016 Lisa accepted a full faculty position with PBSC and taught fundamentals of nursing. Lisa accepted the position of assistant professor of nursing in 2018 with Palm Beach Atlantic University and subsequently became clinical lead of Medical Surgical II. Lisa continues to interact with students in and out of the classroom, assisting them to be active participants in their learning. She serves as an educator mentor, and academic advisor while maintaining clinical practice in both Medical Surgical II and senior preceptorship. Lisa is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and is working on a certification in nursing education. Lisa utilizes teaching approaches that provide a good learning experience for her students by ensuring the students are actively engaged in the classroom and a partner in their learning process. She continues to work on an array of teaching methods to promote responsibility, interest and growth. When not with her students, Lisa is a wife and mom to three grown children and a grandmother of 3. Lisa values the time with her family, and 2 black labs. She is a member of St. Mathews Catholic Church in Lake Worth and supports community initiatives with the Alzheimer’s Association and March of Dimes.
