Biography
Kristen has 18 years of experience as a registered nurse. Throughout her career, she has developed a longstanding and deep commitment to caring for children and families. Her clinical experience includes work in pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, mother-baby, and newborn nursery units at various health systems across Florida. In 2016, Kristen joined the PBA community as an adjunct clinical professor and simulation lab coordinator. Her dedication to Christ-first nursing education quickly led her to transition to a full-time faculty member in 2017. Since then, Kristen has continued to engage students in and out of the classroom, serving as an educator, mentor, and academic advisor. She currently teaches the Health Assessment theory and lab courses, as well as the Pediatric Nursing theory course. Kristen is a Certified Nurse Educator and a Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society member. Kristen is interested in creating and implementing active learning strategies that enhance and improve the students’ hybrid learning experience and readiness for clinical practice. Kristen resides in Boca Raton and enjoys spending time with her husband, her 10-year-old son, and her 6-year-old stepson. She and her husband are active members of Spanish River Church, where they participate in various service projects. Their community involvement includes supporting initiatives such as Serve the City, Ride4Orphans, SRC Children’s Ministry, and Spanish River Christian School. Her sister is a 2016 PBA nursing alumna.
