Biography

Dr. Fenstermacher was appointed Dean of PBA School of Nursing in August 2024. Prior to serving at PBA, Dr. Fenstermacher was Assistant Dean of Nursing at Messiah University (2018–2024) and Director of Graduate Programs in Nursing at York College of PA (2011–2018). Dr. Fenstermacher received the NIH F31 NRSA grant during her PhD program to study the experience of perinatal bereavement in Black adolescents. Dr. Fenstermacher has 20 years of clinical and administrative experience prior to entering academia.

Dr. Fenstermacher is a co-author of the book Called to Care: A Christian Vision for Nursing, which is used in Christian universities around the world. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International. Guided by her life verse Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him,” she is passionate about Christian higher education and feels called to lead the PBA School of Nursing with excellence, integrity, and innovation. She finds joy in seeing others succeed and lean into their God-given gifts and talents. Dr. Fenstermacher and her husband have two adult children. Their daughter, Anna, is a PBA alumna (2018).
