Dr. Harring was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of an independent pharmacist. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999 and then completed a one-year pharmacy practice residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. After completion of her studies, Dr. Harring gained experience in community pharmacy and long-term care pharmacy before realizing her passion for teaching. She has taught at the Gregory School of Pharmacy since 2007. Her current teaching responsibilities include case studies in pharmacotherapy, patient care skills with lab, therapeutic principles of self-care and communication skills in healthcare. In the spring of 2016, Dr. Harring and her team developed and implemented the first Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for all P1 students at the Gregory School of Pharmacy. She is currently a part-time faculty member, balancing her teaching career with her home life which includes her husband, Charles and three daughters.
