Biography
Dr. Fowler’s thesis, involved a positive proof of the conjecture of Fiorini and Wilson in 1977, and implied the Four Color Theorem as a corollary. He has taught various courses at another Christian college, including College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, 1st-3rd semester Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Modern Algebra, Probability, Proofs and Exposition, Mathematical Logic and Real Analysis. Professor Fowler is an active member of a Reformed Baptist Church near Boca Raton. His faith is important to him and he believes it should extend to the teaching, learning and practice of mathematics. According to Dr. Fowler, “A good place to begin a discussion of integrating faith and mathematics is with the principle found in 1 Corinthians 10:31 in that whatever we do, we should seek to do it to the glory of God. In particular, we should seek to do mathematics to the glory of God . . . the professor should remind the student and himself of this important principle.”
