The School of Education & Behavioral Studies is well-known throughout Florida and as such, has established solid partnerships with school districts and other organizations for meaningful hands-on student teaching and clinical opportunities. And our innovative range of programs, from education to athletic training, results in a dynamic range of students learning together and collaborating daily.

Professional Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate from PBA’s Florida state-approved initial teacher preparation program
  • Achieve passing scores on the General Knowledge (GK) Test, the Professional Education (Prof Ed) Test, and the Subject Area Examination (SAE) http://www.fl.nesinc.com/
  • Send your Official Transcript to the Florida Department of Education in Tallahassee
  • Receive your letter of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education
  • Apply to the state for certification: http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/

Students not seeking teacher certification can complete an undergraduate education minor to prepare for work in children’s ministries, private school teaching, corporate training, and other goals.
