The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science's major in mathematics/secondary education at Palm Beach Atlantic University is designed to be excellent preparation for a career in mathematics education. The courses offered are up-to-date and academically rigorous. Certification

Students may seek Florida certification after the following steps are completed:

  1. Apply to the state for certification: http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/ The state will send you a Statement of Eligibility.
  2. Schedule a Subject Area Exam if indicated on your Statement of Eligibility: Florida Teacher Certification Exams: http://www.fl.nesinc.com/ 
  3. Complete additional requirements listed on your Statement of Eligibility.
