Why Earn a Degree in Human Performance and Sport at PBA?

A degree in human performance and sport will prepare you with a comprehensive training in the physiological, sociological, and psychological aspects of physical activity. This interdisciplinary program combines elements of biomechanics, biology, nutrition, kinesiology, and more to build the knowledge and skills needed to promote optimal health and wellness.

The field experience internship provides you will hands-on experience in a real-world setting to prepare for a variety of careers in fitness, sports, coaching, and wellbeing.

Concentration in Coaching/Teaching

On the coaching track, you will study coaching theory, sports officiating, human development, and learning through both classroom and real-world experience.

Concentration in Personal Training/Strength and Conditioning

In the personal training and conditioning track, you will focus on exercise testing and exercise prescription for all populations from beginners to advanced, including special populations.

Regardless of which track is right for you, the Human Performance and Sport major will give you expertise in these areas and prepare you for your career after college.
