Currently, I work at NutraMedix, a nutraceutical company based in Jupiter, Florida. Our company sells natural supplements, most of which are derived from the Peruvian Amazon. My role as a Marketing Assistant consists of assisting with the creation / development of marketing and sales that aim to maximize company profits. I am also the copywriter for all marketing material and assist with the creation / execution of campaigns.
Prior to my current job role, I had two internships. One was a finance internship in PBA’s Student Accounts Office, and the other was a marketing internship at Chile Inside, a company located in Santiago de Chile. During my time at PBA, I was President and Director of Communications of PBA’s chapter of the American Marketing Association. On campus, I also worked part-time in the Student Center.
I wish that I would have known that it’s okay to not know exactly what career you want to pursue after college. I had so many different career interests as a student that it stressed me out. Now, I know that it’s important to just start somewhere and give it your best because you never know where it might lead. God will provide opportunities and open="open" doors to place you where you are meant to be both personally and professionally.
"Don't underestimate your work ethic, skills and abilities if you are starting a new job."
PBA prepared me for the world of work by increasing my desire to learn. Whether you are in the classroom or in the office, it’s important to always have a mindset that you want to learn something new everyday. PBA also taught me that I grow the most when I am out of my comfort zone, and I now feel confident heading into new experiences that will shape me into a better person and professional.
Don’t underestimate your work ethic, skills and abilities if you are starting a new job. There is a big learning curve when starting anything new, and it takes time to grow into your new position. Asking a lot of questions and observing others with experience can help immensely.
