How do I set up an appointment for career coaching?

To meet with Jennifer Fonseca for career coaching, request an appointment at pba.joinhandshake.com. Login to your Handshake account and follow the steps below to set the appointment:

  1. Under the school page, select "Appointments"
  2. Select "Schedule a New Appointment"
  3. Select which category applies to you
  4. Select what type of service you need
  5. Select the date/time
  6. Select Jennifer Fonseca for the staff member
  7. Select to meet in person, electronically, or by phone
  8. Fill in the "What can we help you with?" section
  9. Finish requesting the appointment by selecting "Request"

To meet with Dr. Kim Ladd for career coaching, email her at kimberly_ladd@pba.edu your availability and details for the appointment.

How do I take a career assessment?

Email Dr. Kim Ladd at kimberly_ladd@pba.edu to request the information on how to take the Strong Interest Inventory.

Who can help me with my resume?

Come into the Career Development office any weekday from 11:00am – 1:00pm for resume coaching with a Career Peer.

Alumni, Graduate, and Evening students should email Jennifer Fonseca at Jennifer_fonseca@pba.edu for resume coaching.

How can I get help preparing for an interview?

Come into the Career Development office any weekday from 11:00am – 1:00pm to prepare for your interview with a Career Peer.

Practice interviewing from the comfort of your home using Big Interview at pba.biginterview.com to claim your account and start practicing.

How do I find a job or internship?

Sign up for our Career Management System, Handshake, at pba.joinhandshake.com. Once you login using your PBA username and password, you will have access to thousands of employers and their job postings to browse through.

How do I sign-up for Handshake as a student?

Go to pba.joinhandshake.com and login with your PBA username and password to claim your account.

How do I sign-up for Handshake as an employer?

Go to pba.joinhandshake.com and sign up as an employer.

To post jobs when your account is created, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on “Jobs”
  2. Click on “Create Job” on the top left
  3. Fill out the information for your job posting
  4. Wait for job to be accepted by the school
  5. Job has been posted!

To search for potentail candidates for your position, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the “Search Students” tab
  2. Select Palm Beach Atlantic University
  3. Use the check box, drop-down, and fill-in filters to find the students of your choice
  4. Click “Show Advanced Options” and check “Has Public Resume”

How can I do on-campus recruiting as an employer?

Email Dr. Kim Ladd at kimberly_ladd@pba.edu to request a time to do on-campus recruitment in our student center.

How do I find an on-campus job?

You can find on-campus jobs through Handshake by searching “pba” to discover the available positions.

We also recommend going to the individual offices you are interested in to ask if they are hiring. Occasionally on-campus jobs will have separate applications outside of Handshake.

How do I sign-up for the Odd Jobs List?

The Odd Jobs List is sent out to community members who are looking for students interested in a wide variety of work from babysitting to lawn care. This is an easy way to find flexible work that fits with your schedule.

In order to sign up to be on the Odd Jobs List, log into your Handshake account (https://pba.joinhandshake.com) and click on “Career Center” in the top navigation bar. On the drop down menu, select “Surveys” and then click on the appropriate semester/year for the Odd Jobs survey you are completing.
