The Marine Biology concentration combines rigorous scientific study with extensive field experiences. Students gain practical knowledge through laboratory coursework, environmental research, internships, and study opportunities in some of the world’s most unique marine ecosystems.
Marine Biology
Study marine organisms and ecosystems while exploring the biological processes that shape life in oceans and coastal environments through classroom and laboratory experiences.
Ichthyology
Examine the diversity, anatomy, behavior, and ecology of fishes while developing specialized knowledge of one of the most important groups of marine organisms.
Integrative Oceanography
Explore the physical, chemical, geological, and biological processes that influence marine environments and help shape the world’s oceans.
Marine Biology Concentration
This program is a specialized concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. Students combine a strong foundation in biological sciences with focused coursework in marine organisms, ocean ecosystems, conservation, and field research.
Marine Biology students benefit from access to laboratory facilities, research equipment, and partnerships with leading scientific organizations throughout South Florida.
