The associate provost for academic success will serve as a key leader to elevate our academic support services at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) by developing and overseeing programs that enhance the academic experience, encourage scholarly activities, and support initiatives that bridge academic learning with co-curricular experiences. Included in this role is oversight of PBA’s student-facing academic areas, including the Rinker Center for Experiential Learning, the Frederick M. Supper Honors Program, the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources, and the Warren Library.
After successfully serving as acting dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Carl Miller has been selected as PBA’s associate provost for academic success.
“I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve PBA in advancing student academic engagement, service, and achievement,” said Dr. Miller. “PBA is on the rise as one of the premier institutions of Christian higher education in America, and I look forward to further realizing the tremendous potential of this school and its students.”
Dr. Miller received his bachelor’s degree from Wittenberg University, his master’s degree from The Ohio State University, and his doctorate from the University of Florida. He has served as a faculty member in the Department of English since fall 2013 and as department chair since 2024. Through his expertise and guidance as fellow for university scholarship and development, twenty PBA students have been selected as Fulbright award recipients.
“We have been searching for a student-focused leader to develop the systems of support for academic flourishing across the university,” said Dr. Stephen Johnson, provost and chief academic officer. “Dr. Miller brings a robust heart for our students, a systems mindset, and personal touch to elevate our work to strengthen the student academic journey.”
