For More on The Titus Center:

The Titus Center for Franchising was announced in Spring 2016 by William M.B. Fleming, Jr., Palm Beach Atlantic’s president, and Ray Titus, CEO of United Franchise Group, based in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Center will offer academic coursework in franchising leading to a bachelor’s degree in business with an concentration in franchising. Housed in the Rinker School of Business, the Center will also offer certificate programs in a wide variety of topics related to franchising, including how to buy a franchise, how to franchise a business, franchise marketing and sales, franchise operations, franchise field support, international franchise expansion, master franchisee development, and more. The Center will also offer a franchise internship program, as well as job shadowing opportunities at the franchise world headquarters of United Franchise Group.

The Titus Center for Franchising was made possible by an endowment from Mr. Titus, who, with his father, founded Signarama more than 30 years ago. Since then, Mr. Titus formed United Franchise Group, which currently includes eight different brands and supports nearly 1,500 franchisees in more than 80 countries.

At the time of the endowment, Mr. Titus said, “United Franchise Group is investing in Palm Beach Atlantic University with the creation of the Titus Center to educate and promote the importance of this business sector as a viable and global career opportunity for students.

“Our company and key employees will be involved in every aspect of the Center’s operations. It became obvious to me that we wanted to expand and cement our relationship with PBA for a few reasons: our son A.J. graduated with an International Business degree, we founded the JJ’s Entrepreneur’s Business plan contest, UFG has hired some great PBA alumni, and the University’s Christian values also match my family’s values. UFG looks forward to hiring many future PBA graduates who, with the opening of this Center, will come to us already trained in the world of franchising!”

President Fleming said, “Franchising captures the entrepreneurial spirit of Marshall E. “Doc” Rinker, the business pioneer who founded Rinker Materials and the namesake of our business school. The Titus Center characterizes that spirit and the ideals of free enterprise that are foundational principles of Palm Beach Atlantic University.”
