What can be more uplifting than praising the Lord and learning about Him through song and rousing talks given by some of the most dynamic Christian leaders in the world?
PBA does exactly that over several days each semester for Christival, a long-standing PBA tradition of praise, worship and learning. Christival began in the 1980s, making it the longest-standing conference at PBA.
Join us for Christival 2017 on September 19-21, featuring JJ Weeks and Ben Stuart.
Ben Stuart serves on the team at Passion City Church in Atlanta and is currently preparing to launch and pastor a Passion City Church location in another city. Ben previously served as executive director of Breakway Ministries, a non-denominational, weekly Bible study on the campus of Texas A&M University, for 11 years. He now serves on the Board of Directors for this ministry, which impacts thousands of students each week.
Ben grew up in Houston and graduated from Texas A&M in 1998. After graduation, Ben served as a youth pastor in Spring, Texas for five years, before earning a historical theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. Ben lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Donna and their three children.
JJ Weeks Band is an American contemporary Christian music band from Macon, Georgia where they formed in 2001. Their members are lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Jason Clint "JJ" Weeks, drummer Jon Poole, bass guitarist David Hart, and guitarist Cody Preston.
The 2016 Christival conference looked at how the gospel shapes every aspect of life - especially in how we think of hospitality, caring for orphans, and reaching the lost. It combated the common notion that your spiritual and secular life can be kept apart.
Bryan Loritts, Lead Pastor of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Silicon Valley and graduate of Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia College of Bible) and Talbot School of Theology, was our keynote speaker for Christival 2016.
Loritts led one of the best Christival series we can remember preaching on humility, forgiveness, leadership, love, and prayer!
Zealand Worship, led by Phil Joel, best known for his long-standing role as bass player and vocalist for the multi-platinum selling band Newsboys, led our worship for Christival 2016. Zealand Worship has been faithfully traversing a road that has been as unscripted and unexpected as it has been ordained. Joel and fellow musicians...have been operating “off the grid,” ministering where they have been invited, under the radar in a season of preparation for the next chapter, which is aptly titled Zealand Worship.
“Christival is an opportunity for the entire PBA community to wholeheartedly engage God in worship and the Word, and it also sets the stage for PBA as a whole to say, ‘Come, Holy Spirit. Have your way,’”
-- Bernie Cueto, Ph.D., Campus Pastor, Palm Beach Atlantic University.
