Outstanding Fall Graduates Announced at Honors Day

Eight students have been chosen as the outstanding graduates of their schools and were recognized during Palm Beach Atlantic University’s fall 2011 Honors Day ceremony on Thursday.

The honorees were biology major Natalie Diaz of Cooper City, Fla., outstanding graduate in the School of Arts and Sciences; accounting major Julia Vezina of Oviedo, Fla., outstanding graduate in the Rinker School of Business; theatre arts major Anna Kelly of Roanoke, Va., outstanding graduate in the School of Communication and Media; psychology major Nicole Trauschke of Lake Worth, outstanding graduate in the School of Education and Behavioral Studies; organizational management major Natalie Alvarez of Palm Springs, outstanding graduate in the Catherine T. MacArthur School; cross-cultural studies major Abigail Elliott of Tiverton, R.I., outstanding graduate in the School of Ministry; graphic arts major Abigail Beard of Anderson, Ind., outstanding graduate in the School of Music and Fine Arts; and Joshua Keck of Orlando, Fla., outstanding graduate for the Orlando campus. Keck is pursuing a master’s degree in leadership.

To be eligible for an Outstanding Graduate Award, the student must have a minimum 3.5 GPA based on 60 credits or more earned at PBA.

In addition, two students were honored by their departments: Amanda Johnson of Fort Myers, Fla., Elementary Education Department, School of Education and Behavioral Studies; and Katia Martinez of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Secondary Education Department, School of Education and Behavioral Studies.

They, along with other graduates, will receive their degrees in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.
