Biography
Born in Manitoba, Canada, pianist Loni White began her formal musical training through the Royal Conservatory of Music at age eight, competing annually in the Manitoba Festival of the Arts and studying piano, theory, and counterpoint under pianist and composer Dr. Kenneth Nichols. By age 18, she earned the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) diploma in Piano Performance and was named a finalist in the Snjolaug Sigurdson Piano Competition. Following studies at Brandon University School of Music, she transferred to Minot State University under the tutelage of Penny Simons, where she was consistently named to the President’s Honor Roll, won first place in the 2004 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Young Artist Competition for North Dakota, and made her guest soloist debut with the Minot Symphony Orchestra in 2006 performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 before completing her Bachelor of Arts. She went on to complete her Master of Arts in Piano Performance in 2008 studying under renowned pianist Judith Burganger.
Building upon this rigorous academic and classical foundation, Ms. White has established an expansive career as a concert artist, university educator, and arts leader across South Florida and internationally. She serves on the music faculty as an adjunct piano professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University while maintaining an active performing schedule recognized for chamber music collaboration, modern repertoire, and innovative concert staging. As co-founder and President of the Pops Orchestra of the Palm Beaches and Artistic Director of the Pops Youth Orchestra, she regularly performs and directs dynamic symphonic pops and rock-orchestral programs. Pushing the boundaries of the traditional concert experience, Ms. White frequently integrates advanced performance technology into her live appearances, seamlessly blending modern multimedia and interactive performances with classical masterworks.
