Biography
Dr. Fontaine Timmer was born in New Jersey. She obtained her first degree in Social Work, and after 10 years in that field, she pursued her true passion and became a registered nurse. Along her path, she obtained her DNP and her Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Board certification (PMHNP-BC); she has 30 years of nursing experience and 10 years of Social Work experience. Dr. Timmer worked in a State Psychiatric facility in New Jersey and local hospitals. Dr. Timmer is the CEO and owner of facilities serving Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Timmer worked in Cardiology, Operating room- open heart surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac educator, ACLS-certified, Cardiac Rehabilitation and certified in Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP). Dr. Timmer serves on several Boards: Board President of the American Heart Association of Palm Beach County (2022-2024), Northend RISE Inc. Board member, Board member of Interfaith Health and Wellness, Leadership of Palm Beach County class of 2022, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Outreach and Education Committee, and Hanley Foundation Programs Committee. Dr. Timmer has received numerous community and service awards and was recently nominated for the Hats Off Community Leader Award. Dr. Timmer is a community liaison for PBAU and has fostered over 30 partnerships in Palm Beach County as Director of the Volunteer Nurse Corps Program. She has an ongoing partnership with the Palm Beach Fire Rescue. Dr. Timmer is a speaker, consultant, program developer, and one of only two Certified Educators for Faith Community Nursing in PBC. Dr. Timmer’s strength comes from the Lord, family, and service.
