Biography

Upon completion of his Pharm.D. degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Dr. Wight went on to complete his PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine in Morgantown, WV. Post-residency, he stayed on at WVU Medicine for two more years, working as a clinical oncology pharmacy specialist. In 2019, Dr. Wight moved back to South Florida to work as a clinical oncology pharmacist for Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he managed patient’s chemotherapy and immunotherapy cancer treatments, monitored and managed adverse events associated with cancer treatment, was involved in several research projects designed to improve the safety and tolerability of cancer treatments, and compounded the cancer treatments themselves. During his time at both WVU Medicine and Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Wight taught oncology pharmacy to students in the classroom and served as an oncology pharmacy practice preceptor to student interns and pharmacy residents in his clinic. He is currently involved in several national and state pharmacy organizations, including the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP). Dr. Wight is full-time faculty at the school of pharmacy and currently serves as the course coordinator for the oncology pharmacy curriculum.
