Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) Director of Athletics Courtney Lovely Evans announced the hiring of Rich Limpert as the next head coach of the Sailfish women’s lacrosse program.

Combined with his proven ability to build successful programs and develop young people both on and off the field, we believe he is the ideal person to lead our program into its next chapter.”
Limpert brings over two decades of coaching experience and a proven track record of building successful programs at the high school, club and collegiate levels. Throughout his coaching career, he has developed championship-caliber teams while emphasizing student-athlete growth on and off the field.

The Limpert family is no stranger to PBA. Annika Limpert is a current senior on the team while her younger sister Keira is entering her second season at PBA.
A Winning Track Record
Most recently, Limpert served as head girls lacrosse coach at East Ridge High School in Minnesota, where he transformed the program into one of the state’s rising contenders. After taking over a team that finished 4-9, he guided East Ridge to a 13-5 record and the school’s first-ever state tournament appearance.
Limpert also enjoyed a successful collegiate coaching career as head men’s lacrosse coach of the club team at the University of Minnesota from 2012-19. During his tenure, he built the Golden Gophers into a nationally ranked program, leading Minnesota to multiple Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference championships and a berth in the 2019 MCLA National Championships. His teams finished the 2018-19 season ranked No. 13 nationally, and he earned UMLC Division I Coach of the Year honors four times.
In addition to his success at East Ridge, Limpert founded the Minnesota Athletic Club in 2012 and has grown the organization into one of the region’s premier youth development programs. What began as two lacrosse teams has expanded into a multi-sport organization featuring 12 lacrosse teams and 15 hockey teams while serving more than 400 athletes. He has overseen all aspects of the organization, including staffing, player development, operations, scheduling and community partnerships.
Earlier in his career, Limpert founded the boys lacrosse program at Woodbury High School, where he helped pioneer the growth of the sport in Minnesota. He played an instrumental role in the expansion of lacrosse into the Minnesota State High School League and earned Suburban East Coach of the Year honors three times.
One of the most respected figures in Minnesota lacrosse, Limpert was inducted into the inaugural Minnesota Lacrosse Coaches Hall of Fame in 2025. He also founded the Minnesota Mr. Lacrosse and Ms. Lacrosse Awards, creating additional recognition and opportunities for high school student-athletes across the state.
Limpert owns an overall coaching record of 173-111 across his high school and collegiate coaching career. He takes over a Sailfish program that tied for the most wins in program history in 2026.
