In this video, Gavin Thomas shares how studying Exercise Science at PBA and serving on a mission trip in Peru through CMGlobal strengthened his faith and deepened his commitment to sharing the Gospel around the world.

Highlights of Gavin’s Story

Gavin Thomas, an Exercise Science major at PBA with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy, felt called to participate in a mission trip through CMGlobal. His team traveled to Peru with the Andes Trek mission group, spending about ten days serving communities throughout the Andes Mountains.

During the trip, Gavin and his team trekked from village to village, hiking through the mountains and delivering translated Bibles in Quechua, the native language spoken by many of the people living in the region. The journey allowed them to share the message of the Gospel while building meaningful connections with local churches and families.

One of the most memorable moments came on the final day of the trek when the team visited several churches on a Sunday morning. At one church, they presented the congregation with Bibles translated into their own language. Gavin recalls one elderly woman who held the Bible and began crying, looking toward the sky and thanking God because her prayer had finally been answered. Witnessing that moment made a lasting impact on him.

Gavin says the experience reminded him of the Great Commission—to go out and make disciples of all nations. Through the trip, he learned how stepping out in faith and obedience can open doors for God to work in powerful ways.

He credits CMGlobal and the Christ-centered community at PBA for providing opportunities to serve internationally and grow spiritually. The experience strengthened his commitment to live out his faith and continue serving wherever God calls him.
