Biography
Dr. Justine Metri is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist who specializes in chronic disease state management. She obtained her PharmD from Florida A&M University and completed a general PGY-1 residency at PBA that had an emphasis in ambulatory care and academia. Upon completing her residency training and obtaining her teaching certification, she stayed with PBA as a Clinical Instructor to help establish an ambulatory care practice site for GSOP and shortly after joined as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice.
She has a passion for serving the underserved population and has gone on medical mission trips to Uganda and El Salvador with pharmacy students from all years. Additionally, she developed and currently directs the PharmD/Medical Spanish Concentration where pharmacy students learn how to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients. She currently practices at the Caridad Center as an ambulatory care pharmacist where she manages patients’ chronic conditions, provides medication counseling, helps enroll patients in Patient Assistance Programs to receive free medications, and administers various vaccines. She likes to include the use of AI in the classroom, enjoys helping with skills-based courses, and loves interacting with her students in the hallways.
Outside of work, Dr. Metri loves to travel with her family, serve on mission trips with her church (which is how she met her husband!), enjoys swimming at the beach, and has a huge passion for home DIY projects!
