How to Give

Make A Gift

Would you like to make a gift to PBA?

There are a variety of methods available to you for providing financial support for the University. Not only can your gift assist PBA, it may offer you some unique tax advantages, too. You can give online, gift or pledge by mail, donate by credit card over the phone, or choose from our other options to help support PBA -- including gifts in kind, matching gifts, donor advised funds and wills and estate planning.

You also may want to visit our planned giving page.

Give Online

The easiest, quickiest and most secure way to give to PBA is via credit card through our new online giving platform. With your credit card handy, you can donate to PBA or become a member of the Sailfish Club in less than one minute.

You'll get an immediate receipt for your contribution and an e-mail thank you. You also can donate in honor of someone or in memory of someone.

You can make a one-time donation, or quickly designate your gift to recur monthly, quarterly or annually (and you'll receive a gentle reminder when when the time is near for that next contribution).

Using your credit card is also a great way to not only give to PBA but to earn skymiles or other sorts of promotional credits.

Gifts in Kind

Would you like to help support PBA through a non-monetary gift? Then you might be interested in donating a "gift in kind."

A gift in kind is a non-cash donation to PBA, for use in assisting us in carrying out our educational missions. Gifts in kind may include equipment, such as a microscope, materials, books, artwork and much more.

Matching Gifts

Our matching gifts program allows you to double or even triple your support to PBA. Many corporations donate to non-profit organizations like PBA, and these gifts are vital to the University.

If you are considering a gift, or have made a contribution to PBA, ask your human resources representative if your company has an affiliation with our matching gifts program. If so, please complete your company's gift form and return it to PBA with your contribution.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds (DAF) are the fastest-growing tools for philanthropic giving. Palm Beach Atlantic University wants to make it easy to give with this DAF Direct option. Unlike credit card donations, DAF grants are not subject to a processing fee, so 100% of your grant goes to Palm Beach Atlantic University. You can designate your giving where needed most, to the Annual Fund, or to any of our many named and endowed funds.

To use a DAF, you will need the following information:

Legal Name, Location and Federal Tax ID Number

Please contact Vicki Pugh, Vice President of Development at vicki_pugh@pba.edu or 561-803-2012

What is a Donor Advised Fund?

A Donor Advised Fund is a charitable giving vehicle sponsored by a public charity (called the sponsoring organization). Examples of where you can establish a Donor Advised Fund include community foundations, Schwab Charitable, Fidelity Charitable services and Vanguard Charitable.

  • You establish your Donor Advised Fund by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible contribution to a sponsoring organization.
  • You surrender legal ownership of the monies in the fund, but retain advisory privileges.
  • The sponsoring organization then makes grants from the DAF over time to IRS-qualified not for profit organizations like Palm Beach Atlantic University.
  • Your donation is also invested based on your preferences, so it has the potential to grow, tax-free, while you’re deciding which charities to support.

What are the Benefits of a Donor Advised Fund?

  • You are eligible for an immediate tax deduction.
  • It simplifies record-keeping; you only have one tax receipt.
  • You advise the sponsoring organization on how to grant the money to your favorite nonprofits.
  • Your donation is invested, so it has the potential to grow, tax-free, while you decide which nonprofits to support.
  • Contributing assets other than cash is simple with a Donor Advised Fund. Assets you can contribute include publicly traded securities, mutual fund shares, bitcoin, private equity and hedge fund interests, real estate, certain complex assets, such as privately held C-corp and S-corp shares.

Wills & Estate Planning

One of the most common kinds of planned giving is a bequest. This gift is made through your will, and enables you to name a specific amount or a percent share of your estate.

You can also name PBA as a residual beneficiary of your estate after payments of bequests to others are completed. These funds benefit PBA in many ways such as scholarships and specific programs.

Please contact us  to learn more or visit our Planned Giving Website to donate through your will or a bequest.
