First Year Experience (FYE)

Our First Year Experience programs help freshman adjust from high school to college life - from advising to our First-Year seminar.

Moving from high school to college can be overwhelming and intimidating. That is why Palm Beach Atlantic University created the First Year Experience (FYE) program, implemented through our FYE Office. These innovative programs are designed to connect you with PBA and the people and services you need to be successful during your first year. You will grow academically, socially and spiritually through:

  • SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) — our one-day, summertime, pre-registration program
  • Welcome Week — our extended orientation program, offered just before classes begin
  • Welcome Weekend — orientation for freshmen and transfer students who arrive at PBA in the second semester
  • FYE 1001 (First-Year Seminar) — a required seminar course that is an extension of orientation
  • First-Year Advising — connect with an adviser who will help you create a plan for your education
  • Transfer Advising — from transcript evaluation to registration assistance for transfer students
  • Bridges — help with academic challenges and programs for spiritual and social growth
