General Information

Q:What are the hours of the Rinker Athletic Campus?
A: General Facility- Dusk-to-Dawn * Individual field usage is subject to availability

Q: Do I need my ID to enter the Rinker Athletic Campus? 
A: Yes, all faculty, staff, students, and Greene Complex Members will need to present their PBA ID to Campus Safety at the front gate.  Each individual in the vehicle will need to show ID as well.

Q: Are there multiple entrances?
A: No, there is only one entrance and exit off Parker Avenue on the east side of the complex. The physical address is: 3401 Parker Ave. West Palm Beach, FL 33405.

Q: Where do I park?
A: There are a total of over 250 parking spaces throughout the entire facility. Overflow parking for large events will be located on the open green space in the back of the facility.

Q: If I do not have a car, how do I get to my intramural game?
A: Select events may offer a shuttle bus from the main campus although most students get a ride with friends/intramural teammates.   

Q: Are pets allowed on the premises?
A: No.

Q: Why do the lights have to be off at 9 pm?
A: The City Covenant between West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Atlantic University require us to have the lights off at 9 pm for recreation purposes.

Q: When will the sand courts and basketball courts be finished?
A: The sand volleyball courts and outdoor basketball courts were completed in August, 2018.

 

Field Usage/Tennis Courts

Q: If I’m a student, can I use the intramural field whenever I want?
A: Yes, subject to availability schedule and posted operating hours.   

Q: How do I reserve the fields?
A: The recreation fields cannot be reserved. Fields are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Q: Who do I contact for more information about field availability?
A: Contact the Campus Recreation Department located in the Greene Complex at 561-803-2334 with any questions regarding the Rinker Athletic Campus.

Q: Can I schedule lights be used for the multi-purpose practice fields, sand volleyball courts or basketball courts?
A: Yes, you can schedule lights however it must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance and approved. Please contact Michael Brown at michael_brown@pba.edu. Lights are not permitted after 9 pm for recreational purposes. 

Q: Can I use the community fields if the gates are not open?
A: Yes, you can use the fields but at your own risk.  Standard West Palm Beach Park Rules and Guidelines apply.  
 
Q: Will there be equipment available to check-out and where is that located?
A: Equipment rentals are available at the Greene Complex front desk to check out based on availability.
 
Q: What footwear is appropriate on the fields?
A: Non-marking tennis or athletic shoes on the basketball and sand volleyball courts are recommended while cleats are permitted on the grass intramural fields.  
 
Q: What procedure do I follow if I want to host a campus event on the property?
A: Please contact Mary Ward at mary_ward@pba.edu or 561-803-2013 for any non-PBA rentals. 


Emergencies

Q: What do I do if an emergency arises at the Rinker Athletic Campus?
A: Call 911 if an immediate injury occurs. If you notice a suspicious person, please contact Campus Safety at 561-803-2500. You can also download the Rave Guardian app sponsored by Campus Safety that reports injuries directly to EMS. Rave Guardian can be downloaded from the app store or by visiting go.pba.edu/guardian.

Q: Will a First-Aid kit be on site?
A: A First-Aid kit and ice will be provided on-site during intramurals and sporting events. The Campus Safety guard house also has a First-Aid kit and an AED.  

Q: Where do I go in a lightning storm?
A: In the case of inclement weather, please seek shelter inside your vehicle. 

 

Athletic Events

Q: Do I have to pay if I am attending a Sailfish athletic event?
A: If you present a valid PBA ID, your admission is free to any athletic event. All other attendees will need to pay after entering the main gate.

Q: Do guests have to pay for a Sailfish athletic event?
A: Yes, adults are $5, Seniors (65+) are $3, Non-PBA college students are $3, Children under 18 are FREE. Entry into PBA men’s and women’s tennis matches are FREE.

Q: Will the practice fields be open during Sailfish game days?
A: Yes, when a varsity team is not occupying a field or an outside group rental is not scheduled then the multi-purpose practice fields are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Q:  Am I allowed to tailgate before games?
A: Yes, but please use designated parking area. No smoking, no glass bottles, and no propane are permitted at the complex. 

Q: Am I allowed to bring outside food or drinks?
A: Yes, however, PBA policies and guidelines still apply.

 

Memberships

Q: Do we provide a Rinker Athletic Campus membership add-on?
A: A RAC-only recreational membership is $200 per year which includes access to the tennis courts, basketball courts and sand volleyball courts. Greene Complex members can purchase a RAC add-on for $200 per year. You can purchase or update your membership at the Greene Complex front desk.

Q: Is there a tennis only membership price?
A: No. The RAC recreational membership includes access to tennis, basketball and sand volleyball. 

Q: Does my membership give me free admission to sporting events?
A: No.
    
Q: Do guests have to pay to use the Rinker Athletic Campus?
A: Yes, all guests must check in at the Greene Complex front desk and pay the $5 usage fee for the day along with signing a waiver form.  They must be accompanied by a PBA member at all times while using the facility.  The pass will grant your guest select access to the Rinker Athletic Campus as well as the Greene Complex Facility. 

Q: Are minors allowed to use the Rinker Athletic Campus?
A: Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
