David Ogden, police chief for the Town of Windermere and law enforcement veteran of more than 30 years, received the station’s Care Force Award.

Odgen started the ministry to show officers how a strong, faith-based component in their lives can help them face the daily challenges and stress of their jobs. He named the program Got Your Six, from the police and military jargon telling comrades you’re looking out for their backs.

Got Your Six aims to reduce divorce, suicide and addiction in the law enforcement community with classes and other resources that focus on spiritual wellness. “Our GY6 team has some amazing instructors and supporters,” Odgen said. “I am just the conduit to bring this amazing team together to help our first responders feel loved, respected, and worthy.”

Odgen is studying for the Master of Science in Leadership through PBA’s Orlando Campus.
