PBA will hold a virtual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2. Please plan to join us at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. as your schedules allow. You can invite all your family members and friends to attend the online ceremony, regardless of where they are located. Watch online here.
The ceremony will include comments from President William M. B. Fleming, Jr. and Provost Randy Richards, along with a commencement address. Pastor Bernie Cueto will offer the invocation and benediction. As is our tradition, your dean will read the names of all graduates in your school. The digital program with the order of service and the list of all graduates is available for you to download.
There are 583 graduates, marking the largest graduating class since at least 2016, said Registrar Kathy Majzner. All are candidates for May or August degree conferral.
Share your congratulations with grads and tell us how you are celebrating as you watch the ceremonies. Use the hashtag #pbagrad on Facebook and Twitter.
Send us your graduation photos! We want to see you in regalia with your family. Add your photos to Dropbox and remember to include your first and last name, school and major. PBA will share those on social media and our website, pba.edu.
Try out our new “Graduation Cap” Face Filter on Instagram! Navigate to the PBA University profile, click the “Face Filters” icon (smiley face with a sparkle), then tap the “Graduation Cap” filter to try it out. You can save it to your camera for quick access. Make sure to share with other graduating seniors and tag @PBAUniversity so we can see your socially-distanced Sailfish spirit! Note: This filter is only compatible with the most recent update to Instagram.
Graduating college is a huge milestone, and even if you do not get to walk across the stage at this time, we encourage you to keep your graduation regalia as a memento of this special occasion. You may choose to have your regalia, including the academic hood for graduate and professional degrees, shipped to your home for free. You will receive more information from Herff-Jones regarding this option. Keep your regalia if you plan to participate in a future event. Rest assured that you will receive a full refund if you would prefer to not receive your regalia. You can request a refund at herffjones.com/collegereturns.
Graduates are welcome to participate in a future Commencement Ceremony in lieu of the spring 2020 event. The next scheduled ceremony is December 12, 2020. Please contact the Registrar’s office by September 15, 2020 for information on participating in the December event.
To recap, PBA has cancelled all on-ground ceremonies for Spring 2020.
To purchase alumni items to celebrate your achievement, go to www.pbasailfishgear.com and enter “alumni” in the search bar. There is a selection of license plate holders, shirts and more.
Awards and Honors
Graduates who have earned academic awards or have been selected as the outstanding graduate of your school will receive separate communication regarding the delivery of awards or certificates.
Degrees will be conferred following the entry of final grades and verification that all requirements have been met. The date of conferral will be May 3, 2020. Diplomas and diploma covers will be mailed by June 15, 2020 to the address submitted on the student’s application for graduation providing all holds have been cleared.
The PBA family congratulations our May graduates. This year, we have dedicated ourselves to the Power of Prayer. Events of recent weeks have shown each of us how prayer sustains us during times of uncertainty. Our prayer for each of you is that you will find peace and hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. May He make straight your paths as you go forward from PBA.
