Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Titus Center for Franchising announced its inaugural class of scholarship winners on Nov. 18, during a special
luncheon with board members and franchising dignitaries on the university’s campus.
Each scholarship recipient is currently enrolled in the Rinker School of Business and is working towards a degree that includes a concentration in franchising. Winners will receive $2,500 from one of three endowed scholarship funds for the academic year.
“What a pleasure to award our first scholarships at the Titus Center for Franchising,”
said Dr. John P. Hayes, Director of the Titus Center for Franchising. “We are grateful
to the Dwyer Family, the Seiber Family, and the J.J. Prendamano Family. Each family
has donated a $100,000 endowed scholarship so we will be able to award scholarships
every year. We will attract more scholarships in the future. I want to congratulate
our students. We had more than 30 applications, so it was very competitive to win.”
Franchise veteran Dina Dwyer-Owens, who led the Dwyer Group - now Neighborly - for 15 years, spoke in the DeSantis Family Chapel prior to the luncheon. The Don Dwyer, Sr., Scholarship is named in honor of her late father. Watch her chapel remarks below.
The founders of FranFund, United Franchise Group and Neighborly set up the endowed scholarships to support continuing education at the Titus Center and further the discipline for existing and future students.
Below are the 2020 winners for each:
