Orlando Campus Coordinator Shannan Lewis has published her inspirational story of overcoming aggressive cancer in her new book, “Destiny in Disguise.”
Last month, Lewis launched the book about her fight with leukemia and lymphoma. She earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational management and her master’s degree in leadership from PBA’s Orlando campus and was working as a senior admissions counselor there when cancer upended her life. She conquered it — and was given a second chance at life — through a bone marrow transplant.
She strives to live an amazing, abundant life for God’s glory so that she will impact as many lives as possible. Fueled by her life’s philosophy, “Bloom where you’re planted,” she seeks to encourage, educate and empower lives through her "I Choose to Bloom" platforms and events.
Lewis was born in Jamaica and, as a teenager, was known as a public speaker, singer and radio & TV personality. In 1995, she moved to the U.S., where she continued influencing lives through careers in transportation, hospitality and higher education.
A mother of two teenagers, she strives to live a passionate, productive, purpose-filled life to model good citizenship and godly principles.
