Join us for the Frontwave New Music Festival featuring new compositions by PBA students and contemporary composers. Performers include soprano Jourdan Laine Howell (right), thePBA New Music Ensemble and Lubben String Quartet. The festival will take place on April 12-14 in Helen K. Persson Recital Hall in Vera Lea Rinker Hall.
Thursday, April 12: 7:30 p.m.
Performances by soprano Jourdan Laine Howard, PBA New Music Ensemble, and the Lubben String Quartet. Music by Douglas Hedwig, Aaron Spotts, Chin-Ting Chan, Stephen Karukas, Andrew Sigler, PBA alumnus Joshua Lubben, and current PBA students Nathan Brand and Mauricio Joyel.
South Florida Composers and Performers. South Florida Chamber Ensemble performing works by Frederic Glesser, Charles Reskin, and Elizabeth Schwartz; music of Dorothy Hindman and Susan Epstein Garcia performed by cellist Jason Calloway, flutist Lillian Santiago-Caballero, and guitarist Federico Bonacossa.
2 p.m.: Piano Duo Gastesi-Bezerra presents a program of commissioned pieces; music by Lansing McLoskey, Charles Menoche, and Ivan Elezovic featuring bass clarinetist Jesse Gilday and marimbists David Scimonelli and William Adamczyk.
7:30 p.m.: Electroacoustic music. Music for fixed media (audio and video) by Ivan Elezovic, Devon Barone and Scott Blasco, and music by PBA student composer Sam Theriault.
Tickets: $10 general admission; $5 students with ID; PBA students, faculty and staff are free.
