Dr. Mark Bonfiglio joined the Gregory School of Pharmacy as the new department chair of pharmacy practice and associate professor of pharmacy practice. He says that his Christian worldview shapes his perspective on the profession as well as opportunities for practice.
Bonfilgio’s knowledge of the range of opportunities in pharmacy, shaped by his employment experiences and global exposure, motivates him to encourage a new generation of practitioners entering this changing and global profession.
“I am very excited to have Dr. Bonfiglio join our leadership team in the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy. He has a rich and diverse professional background and he’s both a strategic thinker and a gifted communicator,” said Dr. Jeff Lewis, dean of Gregory school of Pharmacy and professor of pharmacy practice. “These experiences and attributes, layered on his foundation of faith in Christ and a servant’s heart, will serve him and the School of Pharmacy faculty)well as he carries out his role as department chair.”
Bonfiglio completed a residency in critical care pharmacy at University Hospital of The Ohio State University. Upon completion Bonfiglio joined the faculty of Ohio Northern University and developed practices in critical care and internal medicine.
After nine years in pharmacy education and clinical practice, Bonfiglio joined Lexi-Comp Medical Publishing as the director of pharmacotherapy resources. He was later was promoted to chief content officer.
In 2011, Bonfiglio was named vice president, content development in the new entity of Clinical Drug Information, LLC (CDI). He managed the integration of three drug information entities over the course of 2011-2015.
He has been an invited lecturer in Singapore, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. He has also worked to develop support for drug information resources on visits to Japan, Qatar and South Korea.
