B.S.N., Georgia Southern University; M.S.N., Florida Atlantic University.
Kathy McKinnon has over twenty years of nursing experience in adult and pediatric emergency room, pre-operative, post-operative, and out-patient surgery. Prior to working at Palm Beach Atlantic University, she served as a chaplain for four years at Good Samaritan Medical Center while pursuing a master’s degree in advanced holistic nursing. Kathy served for two years as an adjunct professor at PBA before becoming a member of the full-time faculty. She currently teaches undergraduate RN-BSN program courses, technical skills, population and community health nursing, community clinical, and stress management. Kathy is a board member of Interfaith Health and Wellness and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She serves as the faculty advisor for the Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF) and speaks at NCF conferences. Kathy hosts prayer services and local outreach events, and speaks at churches and women’s conferences. Her purpose is to encourage and inspire others by giving them hope through her testimony of how Jesus healed and saved her through her battle with breast and thyroid cancer. Kathy has a teenage son, Townsend; they attend Truth Point Church and volunteer in the prayer ministry.
