Direct Federal Loans

PBA participates exclusively in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan program, which is the U.S. Department of Education’s federal student loan program. The loans issued by this program are from the U.S. Department of Education, rather than by a traditional bank. You must submit a FAFSA each year to qualify for federal student loans. To be eligible for student loans you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or other eligible noncitizen
  • Enrolled at least half-time
  • In good financial standing, not in default owing a refund to any previous aid program
  • In good academic standing, maintaining satisfactory academic progress

Private Loans

To explore private loan options, please review PBA’s preferred private loan service providers. This list is created by a board of professionals and is comprised of lenders that the board has deemed competitive. It is reviewed biannually and lenders are added, or removed, based on criteria about historical data collected and information provided about specific loan products. Carefully review and compare the loan information on FASTChoice, and apply with the lender that best suits your eligibility and needs. You may also use a lender that is not on the list.
