Over her 20 years at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Dr. Chelly Templeton has served as grants manager/clinical supervisor, coordinator of early childhood programs, associate professor, supervisor of student teachers, associate dean, and finally, dean of the School of Education and Behavior Studies.
She led the effort to attain Association of Christian Schools International accreditation. In addition, she co-designed and implemented a two-semester elementary student teaching experience in which the second semester involves partnerships with local and international Christian schools.
Templeton holds a Doctor of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with emphasis in early childhood from Florida Atlantic University. She has a Master of Arts in early childhood education from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Kentucky.
She served on the Board of the YWCA and Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches, and is a member of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitallers. At church, she serves on the early education advisory and welcome committees.
A resident of Lake Clarke Shores, she is married to Gary Templeton, who served in ministry for 30 years. They are parents to three grown children, and have two grandchildren (Carson and Madeline Faith) and two dogs (Mr. Quigley and Miss Tilly).
