Mr. Swick brings a broad background to PBA.  Originally a music major, Mr. Swick soon found that mathematics was his true calling and returned to college to pursue a mathematics degree, earning a master's degree from the Pennsylvania State University in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in mathematics.  Along the way to PBA, he worked for over twenty years at the Palm Beach County School District.  During his tenure in the PBCSD, he was awarded the Palm Beach County Council of Teachers (PBCCTM) of Mathematics Teacher of the Year award and the Dwyer Award for excellence in teaching in secondary education.  He also worked as a data analyst and secondary mathematics program planner for the District.  Mr. Swick has presented at many national, regional, state and local professional meetings including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics (FCTM), PBCCTM, and Teachers Teaching with Technology (T3).  Additionally, Mr. Swick is the technology chair on the FCTM Board of Directors.  Mr. Swick has been a contributor to NCTM publications and a critical reviewer and contributor to FCTM publications.
