Assistant Professor of Psychology

B.A., North Carolina State University; M.A., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Ph.D., North Carolina State University.

A native of North Carolina, Dr. Gregory has worked in North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, and South Dakota before deciding to ultimately call Florida home. He enjoys mentoring students on research projects, and has served as faculty advisor for Psi Chi as well as the Psychology Club at previous institutions. Dr. Gregory enjoys helping students from all academic majors cultivate a deeper appreciation for human behavior and its associated mental processes. He has presented at numerous conferences and has published in refereed journals in such diverse areas as cognitive development, educational psychology, teacher beliefs, behavioral medicine, and engineering.

Prior to completing his doctorate, Dr. Gregory worked as a clinical exercise physiologist in the Department of Behavioral Medicine at Duke University Hospitals. While there, he served on an interdisciplinary team of medical and behavioral science professionals to conduct federally-funded clinical studies, examining the effects of exercise on depression, hypertension, and osteoarthritis. Results from these studies have been published in the Archives of Internal Medicine and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Gregory is currently conducting research, exploring the cognitive, behavioral, and demographic predictors of academic procrastination, the effects of acute cardiovascular exercise on various aspects of executive cognitive function, and the effects of top-down vs. bottom-up processing on internet website perception.

In his free time, Dr. Gregory can be found exercising, watching movies, and spending as much time as possible in or at least near a body of water. An avid and lifelong musician, he enjoys performing with various local community groups throughout the Orlando area.
