Mrs. Giarrusso has had 24 years of experience teaching high school mathematics, as well as six years as an adjunct professor at the community college and university levels, including courses taught in PBA’s Rinker School of Business. After leaving the classroom, she coached mathematics teachers at the school and district level and finally served as a mathematics administrator for the School District of Palm Beach County for five years before retiring in 2011. Mrs. Giarrusso has contributed in her field at both the state and national level. At the state level, she was a contributing writer of Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Mathematics, 2007. At the national level, she is the author of Study Guide, Geometry, a reteaching guide published by Houghton Mifflin in conjunction with their textbook Geometry, 1990, for which she acted as a consultant. At the local level she has been a longtime member of the Palm Beach County Council Teachers of Mathematics and was named their secondary mathematics teacher of the year in 1991.
