Biography

Dr. Dougherty has been fortunate to have had opportunities in various areas of pharmacy including research, clinical practice, management, and academia. He has been an active pharmacist in clinical pharmacy practice for over 30 years, is licensed as a consultant pharmacist, and board certified in pharmacotherapy. His experience in clinical pharmacy practice includes teaching, government, for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals for both adult and pediatric patient populations. Dr. Dougherty began his career a clinical pharmacist and after earning his MBA, he subsequently moved into pharmacy management as a clinical manager and director of pharmacy. He has been involved in developing clinical and pharmacy services during these opportunities. These clinical and managerial experiences have shaped his professional interactions. Dr. Dougherty previous academic opportunities include assistant professor of pharmacy at Wayne State University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and an adjunct clinical assistant professor for the University of Florida College of Pharmacy for over 13 years. Dr. Dougherty has authored numerous journal manuscripts and abstracts and has presented at many pharmacy professional organization meetings. He lives in Jupiter with his wife, Kristiann, and they have raised four sons.
