"Palm Beach Atlantic University is an outstanding and special institution. I am honored PBA has created this center to focus students on engaging early in public policy and leadership."
-Sen. George LeMieux
The LeMieux Center for Public Policy at Palm Beach Atlantic University is meant to enrich the educational experience of Palm Beach Atlantic students and enhance PBA's mission of preparing its students for a life of leadership and service.
The LeMieux Center will engage PBA students with an interactive lecture series featuring state and national leaders, enhance the political science, philosophy and pre-law curriculum with a Fellows program allowing students to conduct independent study with the Center, and provide PBA students with access to Washington leaders through a Congressional Internship Program.
The LeMieux Center will host a lecture series featuring notable speakers on issues of public policy and servant leadership. The forums will provide students, faculty, alumni, donors, and the community the opportunity to engage with state and national officials, journalists, authors, academics, and other notable thought leaders on issues important to Florida, America and the world. Visit the LeMieux News page for the latest updates from the center or visit the youtube page to see recent excerpts from speakers or announcements.
Started in the fall semester of 2013, an independent study program is offered annually to two PBA upperclassmen. LeMieux Center Fellows concentrate their study on a topic of great public importance that culminatea in a year-end published paper. Fellows work directly with Senator LeMieux to select, rigorously research, and prepare the topic for publication and presentation. To learn more, visit the LeMieux Fellows page.
