PALM BEACH ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY’S DANCE ENSEMBLE presents: REDEMPTIVE BEAUTY Spring Dance Concert
The Rinker Playhouse at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
7:30 PM April 15 & 16, 2020
Redemptive Beauty showcases the power of beauty through dance. With styles ranging from ballet to hip-hop, modern to worship, and jazz to tap, you will witness the redemptive beauty of dance performed by promising young dance artists from Palm Beach Atlantic University. PBAU was privileged to have Mr. Randall Flinn as a visiting scholar and choreographer, and this concert will feature the world premiere of his piece titled Benedictus. Benedictus is a movement that originates from the part of the traditional Latin Mass where a priestly blessing is invoked upon the worshippers. As Flinn describes it, "The dancers stand in the place of the priest, allowing the temples of their beings to usher forth the blessing of God upon the people."
The concert will also include new and old works by PBA’s own choreographers Larry Albright, Jin Lee Hanley, Jacqueline Lopez, and Victor Trevino, as well as a piece by senior dance major Winston Jean-Joseph. Jin Lee Hanley's work, “The Lord’s Prayer” (2012), will be performed to honor Palm Beach Atlantic University’s 2019-2020 theme, “The Power of Prayer”.

It is with this mission and belief that he has traveled for many years as a visionary, pioneer, and ambassador of dance to many nations.
